It sounds as if the TV is overheating. A safety feature prevents further function of the unit by disabling all sources of power to the unit in order to eliminate the risk of a possible fire. Try unplugging the TV from the wall outlet and wait at least 2 hours before plugging the unit back in. After 2 hours, turn the unit back on and monitor the heat coming off the back of the TV. Heat WILL radiate from the back normally. You want to make sure you don't smell anything like plastic burning. It has a very distinctive odor.
