Emerson vows to fight with Joan Capdevila for the left-back position at Benfica – Report

With a €2.5 million price tag, it represents a shrewd investment by Benfica but Emerson is keen return every penny spent on his transfer.
"Everyone knows that Coentrão is a spectacular left-back. But I promise to give my best to meet and live up to his standard." The player has been quoted as saying.
After parting ways with his French employers, he is now set to fly to Lisbon and will meet the Estadio da Luz officials. The mandatory medical test will also be conducted then.

"He is an excellent player and will put up a good fight. And I will try my best but a the choice is up to the coach,” the former J. Malucelli man concluded.
While the only thing separating French league winner from officially becoming a Benfica player is the mere formality of paperwork, Capdevila’s switch is still far from complete despite the enviable position the Lisbon-based side are in.
