Question:

Emigration to Australia?

we are about to start the lengthly process of applying for skilled visas with a view of perminant residency. We are both nurses and will be applying as a family taking our two sons with us aged 14 and 18.

It seems such a scary and daunting process but is the process that bad?????

We will have to sell our home to have decent money to rent/buy in Australia.

Am nervous about telling my sister as we are so close. I'll miss her the most and she is expecting her first child in October.

Any advise appreciated especially from those that have been through this process.

Also is it worth having an immigration company involved in the process?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi we are emigrating hopefully in august to Adelaide just got back Monday from 2 week holiday to validate visa fantastic country we got through on skilled visa & got sponsered by sa goverment it can be quite lengthy & some what confusing process so we went with consultancy agency called ambler collins made it so much easier took just over 12 months from start to finish. It was hard telling family im very close to my 2 sisters but eveyone has been great & sometimes you have to be a bit selfish & do whats right for your family my 2 children are 9 & 5 & one due in 6 weeks its the right thing for them so once house is sold we are off well worth the effort good luck to you & your family xx

  2. Why are you going?

Make sure you've been there for a holiday first.  One of my best friends went with her 4 children last year and has found it incredibly difficult to adjust and misses England terribly.  I'm sure you'll be fine as it could be a great opportunity, but make sure you do all your homework and soul searching.  What do your boys think.  Your eldest will be an adult by the time you go?  What about uni for him? Girlfriends?  How would you feel if he decided to stay?

    Hope it works out.

  3. I left a comment on your last question after it was closed... and not sure if you saw it.

    :-)

You don't need to pay the big dollars to go through an Immigration agent.  There is an EXPO coming up in your area next month  (12-13 April) and because you are nurses coming to Australia, they can more than likely offer you a job (at the expo) .. (may) help with moving costs and will fast track your immigration and visa applications.

    See http://www.expo-australia.com

    Good Luck !

  4. go for it, and once your there all your concerns about getting there will be long gone, its a great place to go to
