English Premier League side Aston Villa look to be losing two players over the summer, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Cuellar heading towards an exit.
Heskey, who had signed with Aston Villa on a three year deal, will be playing his final game for the Villains on Sunday when they take on Norwich City. Along with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, Cuellar will also be leaving the club in the summer transfer
window.
The 34-year-old English striker confirmed that he would be leaving the club after completing his contract with them. He revealed he had enjoyed his time with Aston Villa, having made it to the Carling Cup final and the FA Cup semi-final.
However, he confirmed there had been no talks regarding a contract renewal, which meant he would be parting ways with the club. Heskey will be leaving with good memories, having been given the chance to play at Wembley by the team.
Heskey said while speaking to reporters:
“I've enjoyed my spell at Villa. We got to the Carling Cup final, and an FA Cup semi-final. It gave me the chance at Wembley again so I can't complain.”
When it came to his future, Heskey revealed he was uncertain as to where he would end up. The former England international did not have any clubs lined up but admitted he would prefer to play in the English Premier League since he still wanted to play in
the top league.
He continued:
“I haven't got a club (lined up) to be honest. Obviously my contract is up so I just take it day by day and see what crops up.”
The club has yet to confirm the departure of both the players; they have made it fairly obvious they will be leaving in the summer. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 player, Cuellar, confirmed he would be leaving the club on his official Twitter account.
Cuellar posted on his official Twitter account:
“(I'm) very happy because after my last match at Villa Park (against Tottenham) the team will stay one more year where it has to be.
Thank you all for your support in good and the bad moments all these years!”
