Emilia Korpus tames Adrianna Tataj to surge into Women’s Singles main round at Polish Open 2012
Poland’s Emilia Korpus showed her gritty skills in Women’s Singles qualifying round and surged into main round after defeating her country-mate Adrianna Tataj at the Polish Open 2012 on Thursday, August 30, at Lubin, Poland.
The impressive Emilia, who showed a spectacular performance in all of her previous fights in qualifying round, continued her winning streak against Adrianna and ousted her easily in a comfortable fashion.
The in-form Emilia played with a tremendous precision and control in her shots as she remained in commanding position throughout the match and gave a punishing lesson to her rival by finishing off the contest in straight sets with a striking margin on the
board.
On the other hand, Adrianna failed to live up to expectations as she was no match to her impressive opponent. She could not play positive and fast badminton and ultimately crashed out without impressive in crowd.
The opening game of this lopsided battle was quite favourable for Emilia who did not face any trouble to play fast badminton and she managed an early lead without consuming much time on court.
Emilia was impressive in her shot selection and she did not commit errors in the accurate execution of strokes which helped her to set up a remarkable gap until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Emilia continued playing positive and aggressive game and she utilised her hard-to-learn skills in the most effective manner and eventually bagged the first game with a huge 21-8 score on the board.
In the second set, Adrianna tried to play better badminton by gearing up her speed and she remained somewhat successful in pushing her rival on back foot for a few points.
However, it was Emilia who remained ahead on score board as she took a reasonable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Emilia continued showing her superb skills without dropping her speed at any stage and managed to end up the set with a reasonable score of 21-17.
The in-form Emilia ended up this last qualifying round battle in straight games with an inspiring 21-8 and 21-17 score on the board.
