Emiliano Insua wants Sporting to win titles in 2012
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in the title race and the defender is hopeful that their efforts will be rewarded with a trophy in the New
Year.
With a summer spending spree that was reminiscent of the policies adapted by the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, Sporting Lisbon were bound to be in contention for the Liga Sagres title especially with the current holders losing one of their key
men.
FC Porto have not been the force they were last term under Andre Villas-Boas and have been struggling to find the back of the net with ease. The champions can definitely be called as a one man club with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 supplying the majority of their artillery for
their title charge.
While the Portistas have been unable to gather a run of decent games under their belt, Benfica have been quite the opposite and are now favourites for the winning the Primeira Liga.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Axel-Witsel-c7029 and Nolito and their current form reflects on that. The Eagles have secured their progression to the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League and are riding high on top
of the table.
However Sporting Lisbon are not far behind their arch-rivals and are 3rd on 27 points and many games to spare. Emiliano Insua, who signed for the club in the summer, hopes that the Lions can maintain their momentum and end 2012 with something
to show for their efforts.
"I pray that 2012 will be full of titles for Sporting Lisbon,” he said on the social networking site, Twitter.
With some of the best players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 plying their trade at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the Sportinguistas definitely have what it takes to become champions.
However in order to achieve that prestigious honour, they will have to counter the threat of their cross-town rivals, Benfica, who are not only favourites for the title this campaign but are arguably a more cohesive unit than Sporting.
