The Palermo chief believes that the interest from English Premier League sides may overwhelm the lack of attention from the Viola, in deciding the future of the Aquile goalkeeper.
Giorgio Perinetti has hinted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emiliano-Viviano-c12483 could end up evading Fiorentina in the ongoing summer transfer window, amidst interest from clubs outside of Italy.
The Aquile goalkeeper joined Palermo in the January transfer window, on a co-ownership deal with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. The glovesman has caught a lot of attention from clubs all over Europe, and is expected to leave the Sicilians before the start of the new season.
President Maurizio Zamparini recently stated that the Eagles keeper is highly expected to end up at Fiorentina, but his colleague believes that the lack of initiative from the Viola may see other clubs take the lead.
Perinetti stressed that Viviano’s love for Fiorentina goes back a long way, and insisted that Palermo was able to get hold of the goalkeeper because they chased him feverishly.
The Eagles director general admitted that that the probability of the goalie’s exit from the Rosanero is high, but maintained that there has been nothing concrete as yet.
The Palermo chief was all praise for Viviano, and stressed that he is happy to see the talent of the goalkeeper gain recognition from prestigious clubs.
The Aquile director expressed his hope that the matter will find a conclusion that will delight all the parties involved.
While talking to the Radio Blu, the Palermo general manager said:
“Viviano has sustained interest in Fiorentina, but it was us who focused heavily to get him in January. We know that he can go and play elsewhere and therefore also to La Viola, but nothing is definite. Emiliano is a great goalkeeper, I am not surprised that he has interest from clubs abroad, I hope that at the conclusion of his transfer everyone can find satisfaction.”
Transfer interest in Viviano has also emerged from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Tottenham, who may beat Fiorentina in the run to acquire the services of the Florence-born goalkeeper.
Viviano also serves as the second choice goalkeeper for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 behind Gigi Buffon.
