The Real Madrid director believes Gonzalo Higuain has a lot to offer to the Spanish giants after completing his century of goals against Osasuna.
Los Blancos’ match against Osasuna in Pamplona carried significance in a number of ways. Not only did the Capital club complete their century of goals in La Liga, Gonzalo Higuain, one of their star performers in recent years, also reached the 100-goal mark.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester City and Juventus are all keeping tabs on his situation, with a summer move on the
cards.
However, if Real Madrid director, Emilio Butragueno, is to be believed, Higuain will be in the Spanish capital this time around next year.
He rejected rumours stating Madrid are willing to sell the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/River-Plate-c40368 player and claimed that Higuain is one of their own, after spending more than five seasons with them.
Butragueno insisted that the 24-year-old will have a long standing relationship with Los Blancos and praised him for his modest behaviour on and off the pitch.
"Rumours seem to be inevitable," the former Spanish international was quoted on Real Madrid’s official website. "But we are delighted with Higuain.”
"He is a world-class striker and we want him to stay here for many years. He arrived here very young and we regard him as a club player.”
"He has always behaved impeccably whether he plays or not."
With the 2011/12 Spanish topflight football season entering its final stretch, Butragueno explained that Real Madrid are completely focused on their immediate responsibilities and will not start planning for the next season until it ends.
"We are thinking about what interests us right now and we only want our players to think about their jobs.”
"When the season ends, the coaching staff will work to strengthen the team if necessary, but that is a long way away and what matters right now is to fight for the two titles at stake."
Real Madrid have qualified for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after beating APOEL 8-2 on aggregate.
