The Spaniard has hailed the RFEF’s decision to remove bans over Mourinho and Vilanova, stating that both clubs should respect the verdict.
Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueno, has remarked that the Spanish Football Federation has made a good decision, and that Barcelona should recognize it as the final word.
The Madrid official’s statement has come in wake of the Spanish Football Federation deciding against giving punishment to Los Blancos head coach, Jose Mourinho, and his Barca counterpart, Tito Vilanova.
The two trainers from both camps were given a two-match touchline ban following the incident that took place in the Spanish Supercopa last year.
In extra time of the second game of the Supercopa, Madrid’s Mesut Ozil was given a red card after he was found punching La Blaugrana’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629. The outburst resulted after a heated exchange of verbal insults.
The fight between the two footballers had other players from the teams taking part in the outbreak as well. While the referee attempted to bring matters under control, Mourinho was found poking Tito Vilanova in the eye.
As a result, the RFEF looked into the matter and issued a ban for the two professionals.
However, following an apology from Los Merengues’ boss, the ruling football party in the country revoked the punishment.
Recent developments have seen the ban over the two managers lifted, and they will be allowed on the touchline in this year’s Spanish Supercopa.
La Blaugrana have condemned the decision and have stressed that the punishment should stand.
However, Butragueno has maintained that the Catalan giants should not object to the ruling taken by the RFEF.
While talking to reporters, the retired footballer was quoted as saying:
"We have always been very respectful with regards to such decisions. In the past, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were the protagonists in similar cases and we respected decisions of this kind, just like we are doing now."
Several reports suggest that La Azulgrana are going to appeal against the judgment passed by the Spanish Football Federation and it will be interesting to see how the story develops.
