I know I have posted this in the 'Books and Authors' section, but as I am currently reading Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and will be studying it next year, so I am interested to know what is the best adaptation that is true to the novel.

Thanks.

  1. I would recomend you read the book and watch the movie after but I think the 1992 version with Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes is the best.

  2. Wuthering Heights is without a doubt one of the great classics of English literature and is so complex and subtle that no movie will ever do it credit.  Believe me, stick to reading the book!

  3. The version with Laurence Olivier is probably the best although no adaptation does the book justice.

  4. I must agree with Sarah Ray's answer--one can't go wrong with Juliet Binoche, but even that doesn't do the book justice. Also, if you really enjoy the novel, listen to a song version of it by Kate Bush. Pat Benatar also did one, but Bush brings out the emotion a bit more.
