Emily M Kopas earns Girls 100m breaststroke gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Emily M Kopas of NCSA earned gold medal of the Girls 100m breaststroke on day two of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Saturday, September 22.
Kopas dictated terms to her opponents in the 100m discipline as she showed her urgency towards the finishing wall for gold medal. With her invincible efforts, she smothered hopes of her opponents who were targeting the title of the event.
Kopas enjoyed a benefit of more than half a body length ahead of her closest competitor as she transpired on the finishing end for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 11.97 seconds.
The champion was followed by Namiki Ueda of Itoman, who remained 0.78 seconds away from overpowering the gold medallist and touched the wall for second position with a timing of 1 minute and 12.75 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Waka Yujiri of Itoman, who stayed 0.09 seconds apart and occupied bronze medal of the discipline by producing a time of 1 minute and 12.84 seconds.
Yujiri was chased by Riley O Scott of NCSA, who stayed 0.17 seconds away from upsetting her former finisher and settled on the wall as fourth position holder with a timing of 1 minute and 13.01 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Asami Terada of Itoman, who stayed 0.22 seconds behind and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 13.23 seconds.
Terada was followed by Mizuki Nishioka of Itoman, who stayed 0.61 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 13.84 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was secured by Courtney Hanson of NCSA, who was 1.12 seconds behind and completed her race in a time of 1 minute and 14.96 seconds.
Last position of the event was gained by Stephanie C Peters of NCSA, who failed to make any improvement in her pace and ended eighth in the race with a timing of 1 minute and 24.09 seconds.
In addition, Kopas was overjoyed with her performance and received medal after the race.
