Emily Woo pockets Girls 500yard freestyle title – High School State Championships, San Francisco
Emily Woo of LOW pocketed gold medal of the Girls 500yard freestyle at the 2012 High School State Championships in San Francisco, California on Tuesday, May 1.
Woo demonstrated her gruelling efforts in the mediocre distance freestyle event and outsmarted her challengers for gold medal of the event.
With her epic performance, she remained considerably ahead of her challengers from the start and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal.
She continued her thrilling efforts in the 500yard discipline and occupied gold medal of the event with the timing of 5 minutes and 34.27 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by her team-member, Elizabeth Wong, who stayed nearly six seconds apart and clocked a time of 5 minutes and 40.04 seconds for silver medal.
Third spot of the event was trailed by Nessie Gann, who remained considerably slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 6 minutes and 19.64 seconds.
Gann was followed by Dale Herr of BAL, who stayed nearly twenty-one seconds slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth position by producing a time of 6 minutes and 40.27 seconds.
Following that, Jeffrey Phan of WASH astonished the crowd by claiming the title of equivalent event in Boys category.
Phan remained nearly two body lengths faster from his strongest competitor and tapped the finishing end with the timing of 5 minutes and 13.34 seconds.
His title-claiming effort remained almost 2.40 seconds faster from Patrick Huynh of LOW, who finished his swim in second place by producing a time of 5 minutes and 15.77 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Jerry Phan of WASH, who suffered a deficit of nearly five seconds and posted a time of 5 minutes and 20.68 seconds for bronze medal.
The bronze medallist was followed by his teammate, Matthew Tam, who stayed almost ten seconds slower and ended fourth with the timing of 5 minutes and 30.43 seconds.
In addition, the session ended after the completion of all planned events while the position holders were awarded accolades for their notable efforts at the prize ceremony of the championship.
