Emirates Cricket Board interested to host Pakistan-Australia series - Cricket News Update
The Emirates Cricket Board has offered help to their Pakistani counterparts, allowing them to host their home series against Australia in UAE.
Earlier, the contest was scheduled to take place on Lankan soil and both boards were in the final stages of giving the series a go ahead. However, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board retracted from their comments following the announcement of the inaugural Sri
Lankan Premier League – which will kick-start during the same period as the proposed International series, in August.
The withdrawal has again left the PCB in limbo, and they are now contemplating other suitable venues with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 among the most preferred options. UAE had been given a thought but was initially overlooked as it coincided with
the holy month of Ramazan, along with the hot summer conditions.
However, with ECB showing desire to host the series, their chief Dilawar Mani has confirmed that the series can be staged after Ramazan.
“Like everytime we’re ready. If there’s an issue with the conditions then the series can be confined to six or seven Twenty20s. It can be staged after Ramazan. Both http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and Australia are used to hot conditions,” ECB Chief Executive Dilawar Mani was

The PCB however, are reluctant to shift the series, with Intikhab Alam clarifying that while the option to play at UAE is under consideration, any change in the dates will leave them underprepared for the World T20 Cup, which commences shortly after their

“We will consider the proposal. But it’ll be difficult to alter its schedule because starting the series in late August gives us less time to give final touches to our World Twenty20 preparations. We won’t be able to have the series if it gets postponed.

The proposed itineraries of the Pak-Aus series include three Twenty20s and five ODIs. Earlier, there was only one Twenty20 match, but with the T20 World Cup looming shortly after that, both boards decided to include two more T20 games – giving both teams
some added opportunity prior to the mega event.
