Emirates Team New Zealand leads after AC Preliminaries at Cascais: 34th America’s Cup World Series
Emirates Team New Zealand sailed terrifically to have another successful day at Cascais in Portugal, as the team finished on top of the standings after winning AC Preliminaries of 34th America’s Cup World Series. Emirates Team NZ grabbed second place in the fourth race to earn nine points and win the Preliminaries of the very first America’s Cup regatta at Cascais, with 35 points.
The NZ team crew, Dean Barker, Winston Macfarlane, James Dagg, Glenn Ashby and Ray Davies started brilliantly under ideal conditions to retain their top position in the standings. Russell Coutts’ Oracle Racing nudged Artemis Racing down on second day with the difference of two points, as they grabbed the fourth race to earn 10 points while Artemis clinched seventh place to finish third with 29 points.
