Emmanuel Adebayor is hopeful to prolong his spell at Real Madrid – La Liga update
The Real Madrid striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526, has revealed that prolonging his stay with the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, is his top most priority which he needs to accomplish at any cost. Adebayor is keen to convert his short term loan deal into some sort
of a long-lasting contract agreement which will make his stay at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu permanent.
Adebayor, after having a disgraceful spell at Eastland with Manchester City was forced to join Madrid on a loan deal till the end of this La Liga season. Adebayor is committed to give his 100 percent for the club as he commented “I came here to do something.
For me, the most important thing is to win trophies. When I joined Arsenal, I never imagined that I wouldn't win anything. Here I have to do everything I can to make it happen.”
Real Madrid, currently placed second on the La Liga table, are still seven points behind from the leaders Barcelona, which means the chances for Madrid winning this time around is quite slim. For Adebayor, extending his playing time under Jose Mourinho’s
team is yet an unfulfilled dream, and in order to make it a reality he must put up good performances in the remaining La Liga matches and in other competitions, including UEFA Champions League. Adebayor has yet to prove his worth, as he has been mediocre so
far and has scored a mere two goals in his total of seven La Liga appearances.
The 27-year-old Adebayor believes he is on his way to becoming a fan favourite as he said “I can tell. I hear my name chanted around the stadium. It's important to feel loved. I will do everything possible to stay here as long as possible.”
The example of ‘I will do anything’ fits well in Adebayor’s case, as he in an attempt to impress Real Madrid hierarchy, has cut his hair, giving a nice positive signal to Real Madrid about his long term commitment.
Adebayor was signed by Arsenal in January 2006 for £3 million, during which he performed sensationally well for the Gunners. Then, he ventured a move to Manchester City for about £25 million and was remained quite brilliant throughout the 2009 season. But
his fall started in the 2010-11 season, when new purchasing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 and Carlos Tevez were given more preference ahead of him.
The striker admitted that his spell with Arsenal was the most memorable one, but he couldn’t prolong his stay at Emirates despite his best efforts. Adebayor, the 2008 African player of the year did remarkably well for Arsenal by netting 62 goals in 143 appearances.
He further stated Arsenals’ Kanu has been his Idol for a long time.
