Emmett and Emlyn too much for twins?

Question

I'm not sure what the twins genders are yet, or if they're identical/fraternal. I thought that this combination was interesting. Their full names would be Emmett William and Emlyn Lee, joining big brother Finley John.

Just curious to hear some other thoughts on this.

Emmett William is nice, but Emlyn Lee doesn't go well with Emmett. Try something that doesn't begin with an 'E.'

I do like both names but as others have said, it is a bit much for twins. They are both trying to assert their individuality and with names so similar, it can be hard for them.

Maybe you should wait until you find out the gender and go from there. Personally, I would pick names that were different to each other but if you want to use an Em- name then I would suggest Emerson. I think that's a fantastic strong name.

i kinda like it. i think its nice. but.... i think you should spell it Emilyn or something like it because Emlyn looks like its missing something

I think it's a bit matchy-matchy to be honest. Emmett and Emlyn are very cute names though. I'd keep Emmett for one of the twins.

I think those are too much when put together. E's are one thing but 1st and 2nd letters being the same are just too much.

I think that there should be a diffrence in the names. My cousins names are hannah and arianna, they're three and mix each other up a lot. Some people call them hariannah  which is kinda weird.

I'm not big on the names!!!!!! Maybe you should try the Initial switch pick your favorite out of the two first names then work from their like:

Emmett William and Willow Emlyn

or

Emlyn Lee and Landon Emmett

or if the middle names have sentimental value then do:

William Luke and Leeah/Leena/Leela Weslyn

or

William Andrew and Ashlee Weslyn

William Blaise and Baylee/Brooklee/Brylee Weslyn

William Chris and Kaylee/Kylee Weslyn  

William Mattew and Marlee Weslyn

William Rae and Rylee Weslyn

William Samual and Shaylee Weslyn

Yeah, a little too much. Practice hollering those names down the street "Emmett! Emlyn!!" Sort of a tongue twister.

I prefer twins that have more distinct names - people will still know they're twins, even without matching names :-)

They sound very cute together but are a little similar. Try William Emmett and Emlyn Lee or Emmett William and Lee Emlyn. Whatever you feel comfortable with!

Love the names! But might be a bit too much together. Twins, fraternal or otherwise, often struggle to assert their individuality, and giving them such similar names won't make that easier for them.

I also don't like the name Emlyn Lee, too much of a tongue-twister!

I love the name Ethan & Emily for twins.

What about switching their initials?

Example:

William Elliot & Emily Willow (Boy & Girl)

Emmett Lee & Landon Earl (Boys)

Emily Jane & Juliet Eva (Girls)

Just some suggestions...:)

yeah they may sound too much alike
