Emmuska fervent to finish first in Fillies’ Handicap
Emmuska is fully fervent to finish first in the Mousetrap Challenge Cup Fillies’ Handicap that will take place at Sandown racecourse on Friday, June 15. The Class 4 contest over the soft track of 1 mile and 14 yards will commence at 3:50 (GMT).
Pursuing the prize money worth £4,075, the legendary trainer Richard Hannon’s bay filly will run against four rivals including Oojooba, No Compromise, Cockney Rhyme and Silvas Romana.
Emmuska owns an impressive track record. Since debuting in July 2011, the three-year-old novice runner has won 3 of her total 7 starts so far.
The brilliant sprinter elegantly broke her maiden in September 2011 at Sandown and moved on to bag a couple of consecutive triumphs in the month of November---both these races were held at Lingfield.
In her last outing on May 19, 2012, the talented daughter of Sir Percy out of Tintac finished 10th against 16 competitors.
As far as today’s Handicap is concerned, Emmuska will surely be able to deliver an outstanding performance in face of the strong rivals.
If the filly manages to sustain her stamina, she will defiantly have up to 90 percent chances to carry the day.
No Compromise is the only runner who has potential to impede Emmuska. The Hughie Morrison-trained bay filly excellently broke her maiden in her second last outing on November 10, 2011. Earlier, she had gained a runner-up rank in October.
The daughter of Avonbridge out of Highly Liquid finished 6th against 16 contestants in her last start on May 19, 2012.
Among the other runners, Silvas Romana will fight hard for the runner-up slot. The Mark Brisbourne-trained bay filly finished second in her last start on June 1, 2012. Prior to this, the veteran sprinter had gained a third on May 14.
In this situation, there is expected to be a stiff scuffle at Sandown. Emmuska will have to unleash a calculated and audacious run to thrive. The event will draw a lot of bets. Let us enjoy the charged action today. Good luck to all the five runners who
will sizzle in pursuit of success.
