  1. If my mother had flown to Panama to set up shop then as her son I would want to know a little more!

especially if my father was dead. You would want to know why she was going to live in Panama, who with etc. I am not sure what she told the sons about this aspect of her operation.

  2. i think lady h of pompey is right. the sons knew. as im a bit of a dipstick i cant figure out the reasons for denying that they knew but im sure they did

  3. Without thought-absolutley terrible-just think of the grief they must have experienced-would say h**l! Could not do that to anyone!

  4. I also agree with Lady H. They knew.

  5. At first I was shocked at the very idea - in fact, found it unbelievable.

After reading Lady H of pompey's post, I feel there could be  more to this than what we know. Why did the son buy a ticket to fly to the place they were staying? ...perhaps they DID know.

  6. All I can say is that I could never do anything to hurt my children and thinking about what they done makes me hurt deep inside.........

  7. As Agent Zero says, its disgusting.  Those poor boys who mourned for their father all while the parents were cashing in on it.

And for the mother to claim she was emotionally abused - its b*****s like that who make it difficult for women who are in abusive relationships to make anyone listen to them.

    Disgusting the pair of them

  8. Well, they have probably lost them now too as well as their freedom.

  9. I think it was disgusting and they are not fit enough to be called parents.

  10. I don't think there are adequate words to describe the Darwin's treatment of their two sons and none of us will ever understand what those young men have gone through and what it could do to them in the future.

The only sad thing is the parents only got six years each.

It is all absolutely disgraceful in fact evil.

  11. its horrible.

they couldn't have cared for their sons at all- just too interested in money.

    it was so unbelievably selfish.

  12. I think it is despicable. They told their own children their father was dead and let them grieve for him while comforting their apparently distraught mother when he was alive all along. Apparently money was more important than the feelings of their own children. They are not fit to be called parents.

  13. They are both in the right place, pity the sentences was not longer. It will never bring trust to their sons again. If it was my parents who had done that, I would never speak to them again, in fact I would change my name.

  14. Just another example of everyday emotional abuse of children by their parents. Look behind the supposed perfect image of happy family life projected by parents and more than people care to consider are cases of emotional, mental, and physical abuse.

  15. Disgusting, totally self absorbed!

  16. hhhmmmm....i'm not sure about this one....when it all initially kicked off and the dad came back and it was uncovered that the mum knew all along i really did have my suspicions about the sons....and posted a couple of questions about it....i dont think the whole truth has come out....and i'll be completely honest with you, i DO think the sons were fully informed about what was happening....what ever country the mum and dad invested their money in (it was that picture that started the whole investigation) well, the sons had to invested all their money their aswell, on the week of the dads arrest one son actually had tickets to fly out there....i think the parents have done what we would all do....everything possible to protect our kids from a investigation/prosecution.
