Empire building games?

Age of Empire is a good empire building game. I never heard of Superpower though. Check the link for more info. Hope this helps!

The Civilization games are pretty fun.

Well, there are quite a few. The Civilization series is the first that comes to mind. The Total War series is also good, if you prefer tactical combat thrown into the mix. There's also Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron (if you're into WW2). Look them up in wikipedia for more info. You'll probably also find more examples there.
