What are the objectives of employee performance evaluation?

  1. To communicate to the employee what they are doing right and what needs work.  Also, it is a paper trail to justify promotions, raises and terminations.


  2. They should be to help a lot of people use it as a starting point to fire someone. Some people give negative ones to pressure people to leave such as in the banking industry. There are lot of bad dudes there that's why its going down. I had job that never gave one. They said if you were bad you would be gone. Your good so you are here. It's a waste of time money and resources. Human resources is one job in desperate need of being outsourced overpaid and they hurt people more than they help.
