I took a SINGLE Vicodin 5/500 with 2 cups of coffee for a migraine because the migraine was unbearable, I haven't taken any medications in over 6 months with the exclusion of Ibuprofen, I need to possibly take a drug test for my employer in 24 hours and it has already been 12 hours since I took the Vicodin meaning it will be 36 hours before the drug test may be administered, I am a 6'3" tall 265 lbs male 38 y/o in average health, non smoker, any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

  1. just tell him what you told us, the drug test is only to test for illegal drugs, not medication.

  2. If you have a prescription, there shouldn't be a problem.  Even if you don't, Vicodin is synthetic codeine (with tylenol) which falls in the opiate category.  It's not bound to fat like marijuana and valium, so it can be "flushed" from the system by drinking lots of water and other fluids.  Most opiates clear the system in 24 hours or less, so you should be just fine.  If you're nervous and just want to make sure, drink lots of water to dilute it, then follow with some coffee to bring it on out...

    Hope this helps!     : )

Edit:   Vicodin is a narcotic, and the test will most definitely look for it.  If you have a prescription, it's perfectly legal.  If you took one of someone else's, they won't like it....

  3. i dont get what your saying?
