Question:

Employer background check?

When an employer has a copy of your drivers license and social security card, and they do a background check with that, what do they use to run the background check, the DL or the social? If your DL is not valid anymore, will it show up on the background check?

Is the license number used in any way? it kinda makes you wonder, if they don't, then anyone can just make a fake id as long as they have a social with that name.

  1. Oh they run checks... I know in Mass for example (where I live) CORI checks can be run with just ur SS number... license will come up as suspended or revoked or expired in the report.

There are all sorts of companies, and websites that you pay to do background checks and CORI checks for you.   They are actually pretty cheap some of them- they are more meant for if you hired a babysittter or nanny and wanted to find out WHO she really is.  but the more expensive and professional background checks will dig up EVERYTHING and they only need your real name, and ur social security number to run it.
