Employer is going to require direct deposit into a checking account. What can I do?

I can't get a checking account because I am in chexsystems. The employer will not be willing to direct deposit onto a prepaid debit card, because they cannot withdrawal if there is a mistake in payroll that results in me getting too much money. I can't get a checking account anywhere, ive tried online banks and brick and mortar ones. this isnt my fault, what can i do

Have you tried a Credit Union?  I find they are a bit more lenient than banks.  They do direct deposit and everything else you would need.

Can you dispute the chexsystem listing?  Sounds like you need to attack that right away.

Here is one legitimate program that several banks participate in.

Try contacting a bank that is listed in your state to see if they offer a "second chance" checking acct.

It looks like this "program" is that you take a class, and upon completing it, the bank will give you a "second chance" type of checking acct.

I'm sure the class costs $$, but I couldn't find out how much...it probably varies by bank.

Anyway...you might try getting more info from one of the banks on the list.

I don't understand this.

Is the employer paying u by bank transfer (from Bank brand A to Bank brand B), account transfer (account in Bank A (Citi) to another account in the same bank (Citi - doesn't matter if same branch or not) or check?

Why can't the employer deposit into a savings account. What's the difference direct deposit into a checking account vs direct deposit into a savings account?

I'm sure you'd have no problem opening a savings account.
