If I read this right, in IRS publication 15-B (2008) "Commuting transportation" the employer must pay cab fare if I'm required to attend a meeting that is not at my place of employment. Is this right?

  1. The IRS has a web site and a customer service number you can call. I'd suggest you follow up with them to get clarification on your situation.

  2. Well a lot of help wanted ads say "must be able to travel"......if it doesn't say that, perhaps you should complain that you weren't told that was part of your duties?   But probably not worth arguing about.

  3. Is your job worth losing for a few $$$?

1000's willing to take your place.

    No!

  4. I've never heard of that.    Ask a lawyer.
