Employers checking on your high school diploma?

Question

i am 21 and looking to get a job with the local county jail. they say you need a hs or ged diploma. do they really check?

i plan to get my ged in 1 month when the next test is taken. should i say i have a hs or ged diploma or wait after the test to apply for the jail?

If you're going to work in a county jail, they'll probably check..they don't want an idiot working there (no offense to anyone out there).

Just say you're going to attain it if you want the position now...or just wait until you get your ged. Good luck
