Employers do u take people at face value anymore or do qualifications really matter?

and if you was to employ somebody do you check their c.v?

I read CV's closely and check references out. I would be unlikely to interview anyone with poor school leaving certificate passes'.  (GCSE in UK)

I don't take anyone at face value.  There are a lot of dishonest people.

If it is an entry level position, then yes, but will still check your references. You get your experience by taking the lower paying positions just like all the rest of us.
