Employers indicates to quote the file. I am new to resume making. Can anybody tell me how to quote the file?

When asked to quote the file in a job ad, the employer or agency is asking you to note the reference number of the job or, as they put it 'quote the file'.  This is requested so your application will be properly sorted.
