Question:

Employment Visa Application - Washington DC?

Ok, I have read the website a million times. There are somethings that are just not clear. The lady on the phone at the Saudi Embassy is the least helpful person in the world. Her default answer is: read the website. If anyone has recently obtained a visa from the DC Embassy, I have the following question:

Medical Report: Most doctors here don't use office stamps! How to make sure that the Embassy people will consider the cover form as "original". Same is true for "original" lab test results. What about the stamp from the licensing authority?!?! No one wants to touch this form with a 10ft pole let alone stamp it. I want to be sure that they wouldn't toss my application straight back to me.

I was supposed to report for duty on September 1st :( I just want to avoid any further delays. Any other simple rejection reasons that I should watch out for? I am mailing the application from TX .. the mailing charges and the transit times are killing me!

  1. ok. most hospitals clinics etc have a notary public in their legal offices to authorize all medical documents.. So you get it officially stamped by them (YES they do for their own legal reasons).. Then you have to get it notarized by the city officials (go to town hall), then you have to hav it notarized by the state officials (luckily I resided in the town that was also at state capitol, otherwise you are up to some fed-ex ing back and forth real fast).. then I had to fed-ex the papers up to Washington DC to get them federally notorized.. YEP.. I had to do all this by myself.. it was a huge headache.. but they finally accepted the papers.. Goodluck!...

  2. I did the medical report for the residence visa.  My doctor gave me a copy of her medical license.  For the stamp, she just used the clinic stamp that basically says the address of the clinic.  For the lab results, she initialed and dated each page.  I had no problems when I sent in my paperwork.

I agree with you that most of the people working at the embassy are very unhelpful.  I was so frustrated calling them.

  3. wow, what a mess!  i just finished the visa process.  actually, i was quite worried about that also.  the doctor i went to stamped the paper with his own signature stamp, then had it witnessed by someone in the office.

you can try asking your doctor to get his signature notarized.  therefore the form would have an official stamp on it.

by the way, i sent my forms in and they were approved.  i'm so happy that it's all over.

    good luck.
