Question:

Employment to Ireland?

I have an application to Ireland and my papers are already with the Dept. of Trade and Ent. My suppose employer told me that, it has been returned because they don't issue working permit for nurses. Although, they said that issuing of permit will resume this month. My ABA is about to expire by March and I have to be there before it expire. What can you say about this? Will somebody from the Republic of Ireland help me? By the way, I am from the Philippines.

  1. Not trying to be funny but people from Ireland will be the least likely to be able to help you. Irish people don't have to deal with immigration as it is their country. Not trying to be unhelpful!

The Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment deal with work permits in Ireland. I have attached a link below to their website part that deals with international workers, should be a good place to start! My advice also would be to call them directly & ask for advice

    Telephone: +353 1 631 2121

    LoCall: 1890 220 222

Best of luck in getting it all sorted out! Welcome to Ireland, hope you are enjoying your time in the country! :-)

  2. Actually the situation is that the Health Services Executive which runs the public hospitals in the country has put a freeze on recruitment of all staff including nurses, doctors, administrators, everyone.

This may be the reason.  However, if it is a private hospital or clinic they i don't know what the reason is.
