Emporia State volleyball team releases schedule – Volleyball news
The Emporia State volleyball team has recently announced its schedule for the 2011 season. The Hornets have an interesting line-up of matches this time around, 11 of which will be played at their home ground in the White Auditorium.
The Hornets have been able to gain considerable experience last season and are preparing their gear to have a thrilling season this time around too. The season of the Hornets will open in Florida, where the team is scheduled to play five matches. These matches
will span around a period of three days and will take place at Lynn University. The first team that the Hornets will face is Kentucky State. Next in line is Alderson Broaddus followed by Post, Minnesota-Crookston and the last but not the least, Lynn.
After the opening five matches the Hornets will be returning back home to play with the support of their home fans. The first home-court matches of the Hornets will take place on the 7th of September and the team that they will be contesting will
be the Rockhurst Hawks.
When the home trip will come to an end, the Hornets will move onto the UCM Peggy Martin Challenge. This event that will be played on the 10th of September and the opposing team will be Azusa Pacific. The Hornets will be looking forward to succeed
in this match as Pacific was the runner up in Division II matches last season.
In another stop at their home ground, the Hornets will be taking on the Bearcats that will mark the start of the MIAA. After Northwest Missouri, the Hornets will play another conference match against Missouri Western. The Hornets will then be moving onto
their Southern Regional rivals that include competitive teams like Central Oklahoma, Angelo State, Abilene Christian and Dallas Baptist.
All in all, the Hornets are going to appear in 31 matches in this season. Among these, they will be taking on 12 teams that were able to reach the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the previous season. Out of the NCAA opponents two teams will demand
the Hornets to display the best of their abilities as they were able to reach the semis last year.
