Empowerment expected to earn second straight success
When Empowerment ran his maiden race on August 5, most of the sport followers came to realise his capabilities. The legendary trainer Richard Hannon’s bay colt kept on strengthening that impression with excellent performances. Now, we see a third and a victory
in his four-race career. This is an awesome feat that makes the rookie runner a strong contender for the ace title of Griffiths & Armour Nursery.
As the high-voltage race is scheduled for Haydock on September 28, the punters are confidently staking their money on Empowerment as they know the fact well that Hannon has prepared the young and energetic sprinter perfectly for this challenge.
The two-year-old Irish colt has to show his guts against seven strong competitors while running over 6 furlongs. The track surface is heavy that will be quite new to him. This can be a matter of concern for some analysts, but Hannon does not consider it
to be a big issue.
Carrying the rich legacy of Elusive City and Maimana, Empowerment started his career by finishing 6th in the 11-runner event of Academy Insurance Irish EBF Maiden Stakes (Div I). That race went down at Newbury with Derwent being the winner.
The skilled colt went on to seal fifth position in the next race that was 32Red Casino Maiden Stakes, held at Lingfield. He showed off his talent well by finishing third in British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes.
Finally, the Pier House Stud bred colt broke his maiden with the title of Ladbrokesbingo.com Nursery. He performed very well and beat the hot-favourite rival, Vestibule, to win the race that was run at Folkestone.
These stats show the extent of talent Empowerment possesses. Thus, we must expect a thumping performance from him. The colt’s fans are greatly excited to watch him sizzling in the playfield.
Among the other contestants, Hardy Red is likely to do well. The Jamie Osborne trained bay gelding is coming straight from the title of Celtic Holiday Parks Nursery that he bagged at Ffos las on September 3.
So, the gelding and the colt will compete head-to-head, but success is destined to come to the way of the latter.
