Emprex me1 media player firmware update

hi,downloaded firmware to update media player timer function.read me said unzip to pendrive and plug in usb an restart player.system comes up loading but ignores pendrive an boots up without updating.lite on usb stik low.have tried plugging external hardrive in using usb with same update on it in case not enougth power no result.any clues plz?
