Empty liquid containers on a flight?

Am I allowed to bring empty liquid containers on a flight, or will they make me throw it away. For instance, a baby formula bottle.

Yes, you can bring empty containers.  

I always travel with my own empty water bottle so I don't have to pay exorbitant prices for airport water.

It depends. According to the TSA, containers must hold only 100ml/ 3oz.  I have been asked to discard empty water bottles, and I've seen it too many times where people had to throw out containers that can hold more than 100ml/3 ounces.  

They tend to be OK with baby stuff if the baby is with you.  You can also bring baby formula that is mixed and in larger quantity than 3 ounces, etc.  go to TSA for more details

yes you can that is fine but you must proove that it is empty or else they have the right to take it away
