Emulous and Nahrain to compete in the Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot
The Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes is one of the most anticipated events in the Royal Ascot meet, held on 20th June, 2012, where Emulous and Nahrain are of significant interest.
Both these runners have an incredible record and will make this race more exciting.
Nahrain, who is under the training of Roger Varian, has competed in five starts and emerged triumphant from four of them. The chestnut filly finished second in the closing race of the previous season.
The daughter of Selkirk, out of mare Bahr, has exhibited her exceptional capabilities in the past before, when she downed a victory in the Group 1 category.
Paired with rider, Frankie Dettori, she scored in a brilliant manner in the Qatar Prix De L'Opera, at Longchamp, and claimed the victory over the A. Fabre trained, Announce, by a small margin of a nose.
Emulous also brings a lot of excitement to the table with her incredible record, she has won seven races, finished twice as a runner-up and once in third place in the eleven starts that she has competed in.
The K. Abdulla owned runner also has a Group 1 victory in her record, when she defeated the A. P. O'Brien trained, Together, by 3 lengths in the Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Longchamp on 3rd September, 2011.
The benefit that Emulous has over Nahrain is that she has already started her season, when she competed in the Group 3 TRI Equestrian Stakes at Curragh in May, 2012.
Nahrain may be a little rusty, but nothing will stop her from delivering in this event.
Sir Henry Cecil will run the five-year-old, Chachamaidee, in this event with the hope that she will perform on an encore of her performance from the seasonal debut.
The daughter of Footstepsinthesand, out of mare Canterbury Lace, was teamed with jockey, Tom Queally.
Courtesy of her brisk pace and stamina, she defeated Paul D'Arcy’s charge, Night Lily, by 1 ¼ lengths in the Group 3 Betfred Mobile Chartwell Fillies' Stakes in May, 2012.
The Royal meet will host some exciting races with undefeated runners like Black Caviar and Frankel, but this race will not disappoint.
