Enabling xfire in game play?

Question

How comes even tho xfire is on it never enables in game?

This means i have to come out of came to talk. When i turn cod 4 on it should come up bottom right xfire in game enabled but never does it. When i get message i hear noise press scroll lock and x but nothign comes up.
