Question:

Encouraging students to join the Key Club?

I was thinking of starting a Key Club in my High School to help students earn the community hours they need to graduate while providing them with new and exciting ways to help out not only their community but beyond. We already have a Big Brother, Big Sister program and the NJHS. I really want to get a decent sized group so that we could make club events that would benefit places like St. Jude children's hospital, the American Cancer Society and the Ronald McDonald House, since the NJHS already helps out the Salvation Army.

I would really like some advice from Key Club members on their motivation to join and/or some ideas to encourage people to become part of this group.

  1. What my club did was that we handed out a whole bunch of mini-sized candies and attached a small note about what key club is all about and it included when and where our meetings are.

I recommend going to your Kiwanis sponsor for help or you can try to contact your lieutenant governor if you have any questions.

The Key Club International website contains a lot of information and tips so check it out.
