Encraving a name on a circular surface of a ring?

Question

i recently got a ring made of white gold but the outter surface of the ring is circular not flat,so is it possible to get a name encraved on the outter layer even if the surface is not flat?

Um.. it's a ring, of course its not flat. Or do you mean its doughtnut shaped ?. Anyway I'm sure you can still get it engraved by any reasonably skilled jeweler.
