Im hosting a 16 slot gameserver which on non-business level comcast accounts is against the terms and services and can shut down your account. Is their a way I can encrypt out bound traffic from my machine to hide the data my dedicated server is creating?

  1. Dude... it's the *amount* of data you have to be worried about.

What is it with people asking for solutions about stuff that goes against company ToS or the law all the time?

  2. as long as you are not making money off of it it shouldnt be against the terms of service. besides they probably got bigger fish to fry such as people that use torrents or something like that....as long as your not using more bw than you purchased i dont think you need to worry about it. also encrypting the data is going to make them more suspicious than a few open ports and game packets. heck if they tell you to shutdown the server....shell out $16 and head over to http://www.dchservers.com and rent a 16-slot server from them.

  3. I like Mehdi's answer... You can encrypt all you want, but the  traffic as well as the ports being addressed will still give it away - its really hard to hide from the delivery company they have to handle it for it to get to you!   Just upgrade your service to business class!

The question is like asking, If I disguise my voice will my cell carrier still know I used the phone!
