Question:

Encyclopedia for Pre-K kids on line?

I remember years, years ago when I first went online, my computer came with an interactive encyclopedia for kids which would take them all over the globe, showing them interesting facts and colorful pictures of the region they were visiting. I have no idea what that was and promptly removed it I believe as I didn't have my daughter back then. Well, she's 4 now and today asked me if we could look up squirrels online and I cannot find a pre-k friendly website that has anything age appropriate. Is there software out there I can purchase to this effect? Much thanks! :)

  1. I think http://uncyclopedia.org is the best one.

  2. Cosmeo.com

My two yr. olds in my pre-school class LOVE the alphabet songs!  Lots of neat info and inter-actives.  There is also age appropriate info for kids through the 12th grade.  You can check it out for free.  I have a subscription.  I think it is under $5.00/month.  My own son, who is 11 uses it all the time!  Really useful site!
