Question:

End of Period, late to start Pill by 3 days?

I was supposed to start up a new pack of BCP on Sunday, but there was a problem with the Pharmacy and my Doctor's office getting my prescription refilled until today. I just started the new pack today. The pharmacist told me not to take the four pills all at once, but to just start the pack today, so that's what I did. I'm wondering if I'm still protected because my husband and I had intercourse today after I took the pill?

  1. use a back-up method for 1 full pack then your ok.

  2. i would use a second method as well for this month just in case, like a condom.

  3. If you missed your pill then it won't be effective for 3 weeks...that is what i have been told. maybe just start wearing a condom just for the 1st month of your birth control. You can also get a pill called plan B (kind of pricey) i think it can be taken up to 3 or 5 days after you have unprotected s*x. the website is below.

  4. if you just ended your period you should have a few days right after before you can get pregnant. this is not 100% so I'd be more careful in the future but if you've been on the pill a while and your body is regulated you should be good. I wouldn't worry.
