End to starvation?

If there was worldwide food rationing?

Something I fail to understand about evolution is why people failed to migrate away from areas which, because of drought, famine or flood, were unable to sustain them.  We in Europe apparently migrated here from Africa and built what we have, yet some stayed behind and suffer from what nature throws at them.  Why?

Perhaps the answer is that only NOW are they evolving to the position we were in about 400-500 years ago.

Certainly, late but in their droves, people are deserting Africa and the Indian sub-continent for a better life in the west.

More production on the food front; les and less re-production on the population front!  Then, one can anticipate to see some tangible progress in the fight to end starvation!

As a way of controlling prices, many well to do nations like the US will plow crops under to keep them from flooding the market. I even believe that the government subsidizes this practice. It would sure be great if those crops could be harvested and delivered to regions of the world where People could use it. This is one of the problems that is caused when you trade food as a commodity.

No...because distribution is the major problem. That is the well known fact.

Worldwide food rationing would only occur in the event of a cataclysmic global catastrophe.  

And even then, certain groups would almost certainly be left to starve.

The new dictators in Africa, Asia and Latin America artificially created starvation. We should get rid of Mugabe who ruined Rhodesia and all other similar dictators and cultivate the land to give food to the people. During Ian Smith's time Rhodesia was Africa's bread basket. During Mugabe's terror it is in ruins and many other countries are in similar situation. This is the real source of starvation.

That would be impossible.  To each country...to each their own!  Many need to learn birth control.

This does not suit the multinational group. If people do not starve, how would these companies make huge profits?

If some countries can't get themselves in order than let nature take its course.
