  1. I am expecting that most species of large animal will become extinct during the Apocalypse The story of Noah flood is futuristic. With most of the species gone he should have enough room in his boat to save 2 of each.

  2. well out of reading everyone's reply, I have to say P. Bear is the best answer. Thats been something thats been under heaving research. Odds are if climate (just for the sake of keeping this short im not adding any Natural resource issues) continues to go the way it is, land for them is going to be limited.

And to the dude who said Quail, lol dude quail are doing just fine, last i checked, the state i live in, we have more then we know  what to do with.

  3. Polar Bears should be included because of Global warming/ice melting.

  4. For a species to be internationally recognised as Endangered (and this is separate and more important than the US' own classification because most species don't reside in the US!) a number of criteria have to be demonstrated according to the IUCN:

    "IUCN ENDANGERED (EN)

A taxon is Endangered when the best available evidence indicates that it meets any of the criteria A to E for Endangered (see Section V), and it is therefore considered to be facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild"...see the source for the criteria!

There are many animals (but more plants!) that should probably be classified as at a high risk of extinction, but aren't because we don't know enough about their status, we can't scientifically demonstrate this change of status, or politically it is avoided because of economic interests (cod species being good examples for the latter).

  5. Polar bears

  6. Western Pond Turtle, because they are low in number, from their historic population (some estimate up to 90% below their original numbers). This is due to ongoing development and destruction of their natural habitat which is wetlands, ponds and hillsides.  The historic numbers of this turtle are said to be worth debating because their is a lack of research and data on the estimated population in the past.  However, we do know what limits their survival today, loss of habitat due to development.

  7. Quail is endangered and not put on endangered list. People shoot them because of there fur and meat. Don't know why there not put on. Tiger Snake is not on the endangered species list and is endangered.

  8. Grisly Bears so ever one can see one in there front yard

  9. Cod! the definition of an endangered species is one which has under gone a reduction by 90% in the past 10 years or 10 generations. the cod is down to about 98% and nothing is being done. Why because people like eating it!

    SAVE THE COD!!

  10. The alligator snapping turtle and the Louisiana red drum (a.k.a redfish)

They are not on the ES list because someone decided to put a limit on the number you can catch instead. Yeah, right. Like fish mortality doesn't happen when you catch them, stretch them out to see if they are long enough, rip the hook out of their mouths and then send them on their way >_>

  11. Such decisions are no longer decided by science, but purely by politics, since the Bush Cheney admin has totally corrupted all scientific discipline at the national level.

  12. This should be done( and it is) in accordance with the law of ecology. I personally, don't care about it, however, a balance has to exist. In the USA, uncle Sam is a good ecologist, and high penalties are issued to individuals not complying with these laws(ecology's).
