Question:

Endometriosis returns after surgery?

I had a laproscopic surgery done in August of 2007 for endometriosis. I went onto Yaz birth control after the surgery and have been virtually pain and period free since last August. Well the other night I was back in emergency with excruciating pain that felt the exact same as my old endo pain. I also was bleeding heavily which hasn't happened since the surgery. Is it possible that it already came back this fast? I had my gallbladder removed in February and he said there was a stringy stuff on it. Can endometriosis get on the gallbladder too? I'm a little worried about having to have a laproscopic done again. Has anyone experienced this more than once?

  1. Yes, unfortunately, endometriosis often returns. Endo can attach itself to bladder, uterus, ovaries, bowel, etc.

I have battled adenomyosis (endo inside of the uterus) for more than 10 years and am waiting to get a hysterectomy. I had the laproscopy done & a few months later, had a myomectomy to relieve painful intercourse & horrible menses. It worked for a couple of years, but the adeno has been back full-force for 3 years. Now, I wait for the money and time.

This site is a terrific resource- great support throughout the entire experience. Best of luck to you!
