  1. I have both numerous down the throat and 2 up the other end and i am 21 how ever they sedated me it took about 30 minutes each time and after wards i had no discomfort tylenol couldn't help.

  2. An endoscopy is not done at the "rear"---that is a COLONOSCOPY.

An endoscopy is a camera tube that is inserted in the throat.

A colonoscopy is not uncomfortable. They give you a "twilight sleep" anesthetic which not only makes you very relaxed, it also gives you a sort of temporary "amnesia" so you don't remember the procedure much at all. You won't feel any thing painful. These are very necessary tests, and are the #1 screening test for cancers of the digestive system.

It takes about 30-45 minutes to do the whole test, you will be made comfortable from the minute you get there until you leave. It's WAY easier than they make it sound, really---and there is NO PAIN.

The endoscopy (throat/stomach) is also easy--and also painless--but the worst part of that one is the stuff they spray in your throat to relax it. It tastes horrid. (They said it was "banana" flavor, but believe me, no banana ever tasted that bad! LOL) That part is very brief, though---as soon as it is sprayed your throat is numb and you feel nothing.

That one takes almost no time at all--maybe 10 minutes. NO PAIN. No discomfort. Trust me--these tests are not bad at all.

  3. Endoscopic / Endoscopy is done either the throat or the back end way.

    Both ways are not comfortable.

But the back way are a little better than the throat way.

If the doctor’s do the throat way, it will take you almost a week to recover.

    Because it really hurts.

So you strictly have to go on liquid foods.

The down way, it’s a little okay..

    The pain will be there.

    But—it’s only for 3 to 4 days.

    Then you’ll be okay.
