Endy Kumara Gupta march into second stage of qualifying round in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Banten Open
The young but spirited shuttler Endy Kumara Gupta registered his presence in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Banten Open as he cleared the first hurdle in the qualifying round on October 16, 2012.
This 45-minute Men’s Singles encounter saw him performing exceptionally well against Rahmad Sulaeman of Jakarta and this honest effort helped him to pile up final figures of 15-21, 21-17 and 21-15.
Though, Endy struggled a bit in the opening game but he did not remain at the lower end permanently and saved the honour in the last two games.
Meanwhile, the opposing shuttler took off in perfect manner but he failed to carry this rhythm in the following sets.
Rahmad completely dominated the opening game as he finished this set with a significant lead of six points in the concluding margin.
He set the ball rolling with couple of valuable points in a row and kept on moving forward without any serious trouble.
The first half ended with Rahmad enjoying the upper hand with an indomitable total of 11. This initial advantage helped him also in the second half as he cruised to victory with scoreboard flashing 21-15 margin in his favour.
However, the story was entirely different in the next game as Endy Kumara showed a strong character and turned his rival’s plans of a straight-set victory into dust.
Endy did not show any sign of confusion even after losing the first set and played with great precision to counter-balance the situation.
He established an unassailable lead immediately in the beginning and then magnified the impact by showing consistency in his performance.
The decisive figure of 21-17 was proof of his supremacy and this timely win took him to the third and final set.
Both contenders utilised all of their brilliance in the game to oust the opponent and made this segment of the showdown a real feast for the eyes.
They remained close on points table until mid-game break but then Endy Kumara showed elevated craft and sealed a splendid win with a striking knock of 21-15.
Now he is scheduled to meet another talented campaigner Hanifan Yulap of Jakarta on his way to the main round of 2012 Djarum Sirnas Flypower Banten Open.
