I will charge the batteries and take a few pics with my digital cam, then leave them in the cam for a few days. When I go back to use it, the batteries are dead. Is that right or are they bad? I've only have the recharger for about 5 months

  1. From the time you bought the rechargeables, did you always run them completely dead before recharging??

Whenever charging batteries, whether they're alkaline, cell phones, cordless phones, etc.  Always run the batteries completely dead before charging.  Batteries actually have memory, which means that if you only use half of the charge, and put it on the charger, you will get less and less use out of them everytime.

  2. It could be a few things. A problem with the camera, a problem with the batteries, or even a problem with not "uncharging" the batteries before charging them. Depends on the type of battery.

  3. You may have one bad cell which is draining the voltage from the set.  Normally you find this with a multimeter or VOM.  If you can, just replace the batteries with a fresh set.
