Energy Emergency in West Texas?

Question

There is a energy emergency in the west Texas area.. Excel energy is trying to buy energy from other sources making everything more expensive here..I totally saw it coming but wasn't prepared for it at all... They are asking everyone to turn off there lights and computers.. Its pretty crazy.. I really wish I could help...What can I do to help my family get around this..because I'm not bragging or anything but I am a pretty smart kid..I wish I could just invent something to help...Any ideas words of advice please
