I've read so much criticism of Vladimir Putin (who WAS most notably liked among Americans until Bush announced a missile defense shield on Russia’s doorstep)

It disturbs me that because Putin would not surrender Russia's energy to pro-western oligarchs and subsequently into western control, and because he deplores Russian pipelines to Europe being under control of so-called 'color revolutionary' countries i.e. pro-west ... Basiclly, because he protects Russia's energy, protects the backbone of the economy, he is automatically labeld as dictator. What is even more disturbing is how many people eat this propaganda with a big spoon ... while America is at war to save the petrodollar and demanding sanctions against all countries that reject it. Iran, Venezuela and previously Iraq (before the war of course)

My question is, doesn’t a country have the right to energy security ... and in light of the looming crisis, how far should a country go to protect its resources? (eg Iran).

  1. Putin wants the return of the USSR and the cold war. Ask Russians if they think this is a good thing, they will tell you no, and went there and asked.

  2. All countries in the World face the current Energy Crisis and whether it is Cold or Hot is not importance, as each will fight its own war.

Putin is doing his part for his people & country, so is Bush for US.  There is no right or wrong in doing what he needs to do.
