Is it true that some energy drinks contain alcohol, or is this just an urban myth? A colleague of mine said she saw on 20/20 a report that claimed this. If this is true, how can kids buy them? Thanks.

  1. sparks, maybe tilt, and a couple others do contain alcohol. kids can get them the same ways kids get beer.

add: energy drinks that do say so in giant letters. it's probably just as easy to mistake those silly malt beverages like smirnoff ice for a non-alcoholic drink.

  2. Not true unless it is Sparks from the liquor store, this idiot is probably talking about people that mix Rockstar and Jagermeister or redbull and vodka many people mix their drinks with alcohol but sold that way at a convenience store to minors..no way

  4. no they are not. it is just some kids drink so many they get sick or very ill. I drink em all the time. A lot of people add Alcohol to them for an adult energy drink...

  5. Yes, some energy drinks contain alcohol.  They are supposed to be stored with other alcoholic drinks at convenience stores and markets, but often are not.  Store clerks DO sell them to minors, sometimes through ignorance.  The packaging on alcohol containing energy drinks is similar to other energy drinks, bright and colorful, not at all like beer, for instance.

Here in Florida there was an investigative report done by one of the local channels and it led to a law enforcement crack down on the sale of alcohol containing energy drinks to minors.

  6. in some energy drinks some manufactures are putting alcohol without anyone knowing. here are websights about it
