  1. Are you looking for things an individual can do, or things a school can do?

    INDIVIDUAL:

    - Walk to school

    - Or take public transportation

    - Turn off lights when not in use

    - Sit next to a window with natural light so you don't have to turn on the lights (only works if the rest of the class does this too, otherwise lights will still be on)

    - Use recycled paper (so you're not supporting factories that waste energy)

    - Recycle your own paper, plastic, etc. (see above)

    - Place computer monitors in sleep mode when not in use

    - Make sure your backpack, supplies, and clothes are made from reused/recycled material.

    SCHOOL:

    - Convert to solar power

    - Install faucet aerators to conserve water

    - Improve insulation, so they don't need heating/cooling as much

    - Offer school bus transportation (if they don't already)

    - Participate in Earth Hour (http://www.earthhour.org/)
